Infinite-Minded Leadership

Session 5: The Infinite Game – Designing for Endurance

This final onboarding session reframes school leadership as more than a role—it’s a game. But not the kind you win. Drawing on the concept of infinite games, this session challenges leaders to move beyond short-term thinking, quick fixes, and seasonal cycles of urgency. Instead, principals and assistant principals explore how to lead with endurance by designing systems that outlast them. Participants learn to distinguish between finite leadership moves—those dependent on their presence—and infinite leadership systems that continue to improve even in their absence. The session unpacks what it means to build capacity in others, operationalize vision through routines, and embed growth into the daily fabric of the school. Leaders are encouraged to let go of heroic leadership myths and instead embrace system-building as the true mark of legacy. By the end, participants are equipped with both a mindset and a toolkit for building schools that are resilient, coherent, and future-ready. Because great leaders don’t just play the game well—they change the game entirely.
